I have a slight back injury and have a hot burning sensation in my feet and under my toes?
I am walking 3km per day to control my sugar and not sure if the burning sensation is from tired feet or back from injury(nerves) or start to feet problems.
If I press on my toes the white indentation is quickly filled again with red (blood)
I am taking 1g glucophage diamicron and because of high levels in moring requested to go on a low dose of insulin at night. Although I dont have the sugar hangovers anymore. (since started exerciseing my HBO1c/Hba1c has gone from 7.9 to 6.4 ) any advice from anyone

thanks

GO TO DOCTOR OR HOSPITAL as soon as possible tell them over the phone what is happening as soon as possible. DO NOT DELAY. You have a problem . if you wait you might loose your toes or could prevent this . Go for HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Worse case preventing serious results.

If its Neuropathy from diabetes the only way to help keep it from getting worse is to control blood sugar. Since you have a back injury, are you going to a chiropractor? He should be able to help. If its from walking, you may need to invest in better shoes. It could be from all three!

Many runners, walkers, and people who use stair steppers get the same sensation you are describing but your best bet is to have a podiatrist check it out. Call & schedule an appointment. Make sure you take the shoes you walk in with you for his/her inspection.

Dont wait, nerve damage doesnt seem to get better. The faster someone can help you prevent or lessen the symptoms the better you will be. I believe between a chiropractor & a podiatrist, you will get the answers you need and the advice to prevent further pain.

Glucophage (metformin) interferes with Vit B 12. You should use a Vit B 12 supplement, also B 6. I had a slight burning under two toes and since I started taking the vitamins, it has not reoccured. The burning could be a result of lowering your blood sugar a good deal, bringing about the regeneration of capillaries. Of course it could also be due to some other health problem
