I am a 30 year old male. I had a catherization done about 3 months ago after I failed a nuclear stress test. The catherization came back perfect. No heart problem.

The night of the cath I had this intense feeling all over and the back of my neck started burning. The next morning it felt like my legs were all electrical and I was sweating and getting lightning jolts up my body. Dr. said it was anxiety.

I woke up for the next 3 weeks feelings like my face was sunburned even though it felt cool to the touch. My legs would get electical feelings that would shoot up my body.

I then had some attacks where I would feel all weird and then the pressure would leave quick burning spots all over my body. very intense. Very different than anything I have ever experienced.

About 3 weeks ago I had 4 days of the electrical feeling but not nearly as intense as before.

I have also been getting some vertigo from time to time.

I just don't feel the same since the cath. It feels like the contrast dye did something or triggered something. Has anyone had similiar experience or have advice?

I have not heard of this specific scenario before, but I will tell you that I have had similar reactions to drugs or procedures that the docs "assured" me could not produce negative side effects.

It sounds to me as though your body DID react to the dye or some aspect of the procedure. If that's the case, I'd bet it disappears over time as the dye or whatever dissipates from your body. Our bodies are odd, sensitive mechanisms- but they do bounce back. If it doesn't go away quickly enough and you continue to worry- INSIST that your doc or his/her nurse talk to you about it! Good luck-
