HEy girls,

I am really annoyed because lately I have noticed that by BC is turning my upper lip brown. I have another girlfriend that is on depo and complained of the same problem. I went off of the patch for a few months and it went away but now my skin is all broken out and crappy. I have heard of this being a side effect of the pill/patch. Has anyone else struggled with this? Are there any remedies to it.. I love the patch and it has worked great for me after I tried a ton of other birth controls. I was thinking of trying the depo shot but Iam uneasy with not having a period, seems unnatural to me.. any suggestions?

Thanks,
CBU

I have the same problem with the brown upper lip. I spoke to a Dr at a medical spa and he said in the spring I should get this bleaching agent it is very mild and costs about 35.00. It has to be used everyday or the spot will come back. You could ask any facial spa about it. I will find out what the product is called and let you know. Do you get the dark patches in the winter also?

I get this too, I have a blotchy patch on my forehead and a lining on my upper lip. My mom said she also got it on the pill but it does go away when you stop taking them, so that made me feel better...i was afraid it was permanent!! I've also heard from spa people about the bleach, but I've never tried it.

hmmm, yes I would love to know what the product is called, thank you. Yes! The splotches go away competely about a month or so after you stop the pill. I don't want to stop my pill! It got really bad this summer when I started getting sun on my face. The spots got really dark. Thank you for the advice and please let me know the cream that you are using.
