I can't tell sometimes if I am legitimately not hungry, or if I've just trained myself to ignore the signals.
Today, for example, I ate a big breakfast (muesli, yogurt, a banana, and 1/2 an apple) and I know I'm not going to be hungry until dinnertime. At least I don't WANT to be. So I am planning on not eating until 5 or 6 tonight. I'm used to doing this, but I can't tell if it is that I am legitimately not hungry from my big breakfast and I SHOULD still eat a regular lunch, or if I just think I shouldn't be hungry, so I'm not.

All I'm asking is if I should eat 3 meals even if breakfast was big and if I should eat even if I'm not hungry???

It's a matter of trainign yourself. You've been eating so little for so long your body and mind are used to not feeling hunger. You also feel full after very little amounts. It's the same as those with anoreixa who are hospitilized and put on meal plans. The reason they need to be supervised is bescause (aside fromt he health issues), they have trained themselves to ignore their body singals, and thus refeeding themselves will be dificult because you feel like youre going against what your body is telling you.

At this point, you cannot rely on your body or mind to tell you what and when you should eat. Your breakfast is not ridiculously huge, making up for a skipping lunch, so you shouldn't be planning to skip lunch (skipping meals isn't good anyways..you can slow down your metabolism further). If you have an aversion to eating big meals, eat lots of little snacks. Either way, up your intake to about 2000 Cals- starting first with 1800, then workign up again. You will feel full and will not want to eat, but you have to. It will be easier and will pass with time, so stick it out if you want to be healthy.

But the thing is, I DO feel hunger some of the time..just not always. Should I still eat even if I don't think I'm hungry? Sometimes my stomach will not growl and I will not think I need to eat, but then I'll get lightheaded or I'll just want to eat no matter what. At this point I'm sure you would say I should just eat my meals without waiting for my body or mind to tell me what to do, right?

Another thing is I hate the feeling of snacking a lot in a day (I feel gross for some reason), but I also don't like to feel extremely full after a big meal. Should I eat small meals/snacks all day or 3 big meals? I guess that's not even something you could answer, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
How often is it ok to have an indulgence like chocolate or something? Everyday? Once a week?
I'm kind of confused about what is "normal"///
