View Full Version : Double Vision - Myasthenia Gravis

My Neurologist said my EMg test is suggestive of MG and they want to draw my blood and send it to a lab at the Mayo Clinic that has a very good test for MG.
Does anyone have double vision because of MG and, if so, how was it treated and did the treatment work?
Thank you, everyone.

I have MG, and have had HORRID DV in past. I take Cellcept and IVIG, and currently things are peachy. However, I'm just newly out of a year of horrible symptoms that had been going on for over 18 mos. I've had MG for 7 years now and have come to expect periods of both good and bad.

Good luck to you.

Thank you for your reply.

What tests did you have that gave you the diagnosis of MG?

Did you ever try prisms for the DV?
The DV sure is horrible.

I had emg, ncv and antibody blood tests (I'm negative). However, as I show symptoms throughout my body (also lose the ability to swallow and speak at times), so it's pretty obvious what's wrong with me.

I can't use prisms. When I have DV, it's so variable and so severe, I'm not a candidate. Apparently they don't make prisms strong enough to handle my problem. However, for many, they work wonders.

Hope you find some relief soon. Post over on the neuromuscular forum in future, if you have any more questions. ;)

That you so much for the information. I will go to that board. Any information I can get helps.

I have the variable DV also and it is awful. I have 2 different pair of glasses with different prisms.
Thank you, again.
