Hi, this is my first time on here, so I hope I am posting this right...
Well, I'm not sure if anyone will have any advice to donate to this discussion, but if you do, I would appreciate anything!

When I was 8 I had Henoch-Schonlein Purpura for six years, and after I had a kidney biopsy, my doctor said I had 60% function in both my kidneys. About four years after my biopsy, the disease was gone, and I have not had any serious issues with my kidneys since. Now, I'm 21 and I haven't had any checkups with a neurologists since my disease has left.

Recently, I've had pain on my lower left-side of my back, and it feels like it's internal, and it comes every thirty or so minutes. It's not excruciating, and it only comes in the morning thru afternoon. So I'm wondering if this is related to my kidneys, or if it's some other sort of infection. Also, since turning 21, I have been consuming more alcohol lately, so i didn't know if that could be a side effect of that...

If you have any advice, I would love to hear it!

I've got flank pain too, and after a month with no improvement, I guess I'm going to have to go see my dr.

Hopefully, your apin has resolved, but if not, I'd head to your de to get it checked.

Good luck!

since you do have a history of kidney disease it would be a good idea to see your doc for a check up,espescially since it has been some time since your kidneys were checked out.i would also be a bit careful about drinking alcohol while having any sort of loss of kidney function,it could cause you problems.but see your doc for some labs and a possible ultrasound or CT to see how things are going in there.hope its nothing major.please let me know how things are,K?marcia
