Anemia doesn't cause nosebleeds per say but excessive nosebleeds could in theory lead to anemia. Has he had the cause of his nosebleeds investigated? It can be as simple as veins too close to the surface inside the nostrils and those can be cauterized. It may be worth mentioning that those with iron deficiency anemia can bleed more due to the absence of iron. My dr explained that iron plays a role in constriction of the blood vessels so women who become anemic as a result of heavy periods often find their cycles lighter after their iron stores have recovered. Obviously your hubby doesn't have to worry about getting his period!!
He should definitely be seen by a dr to see why he gets such awful bleeds.
