For those GERD sufferers, I was wondering what antacid provides you the best relief? The doctor told me to take Gaviscon, but I don't feel it helps as well as Tums.

I've always used Tums. Have you thought about using a acid reducer like Pepsid AC? It is what I use now and I don't have anymore problems.

I think it's different antacids for different people, just like the medicines these Dr.'s put us on - Nexium, Aciphex, Protonix, etc.

i dunno, i take all of em... gaviscon, tums, ranitidine/cimetidine...
