I have sharp pains in my upper left back which runs round to just below my left brreast and griping pains in my stomach and lower back followed by nausea.
Could this be IBS? are these the symptoms? I thought IBS was only in your lower back.

Actually, you need to get your kidneys looked at! It sounds as if you may have a kidney infection.

Hi Ang24,

I think your gall bladder is acting up - Hence the pain in the rib cage below the breasts and the pain down your back and the feeling of the need to vomit.

Your symptoms seem to indicate that your bile is going into your stomach - and hence you feel like throwing up. It does occur to IBS patients - usually this occurs about 20 minutes after a meal - right?

Do you suffer from constipation or diarrhea? The reason is - it is easier to tell if your gall bladder is putting excess bile into your intestinal tract or if it is putting too little.

There are ways to handle the situation if you suffer from either Constipation or Diarrhea. Otherwise you may have to experiment.

Cheers, Raju.
