hi was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me.My 3 yr old daughter flaps her arms continously, usually when shes excited. And she also yells out EEK all the time.I thought it was just a cute thing and an age thing but now I'm noticing that its something she cant control.I've been watching videos lately from when she was a baby and noticed she has been flapping her arms since she was a little baby.

Flapping is a common symptom of autism, but she needs a professional evaluation. Other symptoms include sensory issues (doesn't like to be touched or cuddled), non-verbal or behind age group with talking, rocking, inappropriate anger, head-banging, and poor social interaction. If none of those are present, then autism is unlikely.

Many children have Tics
the tics must occur many times a day (usually in bouts) nearly every day or intermittently over more than 1 year, during which time there must not have been a tic-free period of more than 3 consecutive months
Sometimes is is form Tourettes-Disorder which is more severe then tics. If it gets worse or is interfering calling attention to your daughter. take her in to be evalated. This can be controlled.
