Hi Guys,
I think I may be going through peri-menopause but I do not have any other symptoms but I got my monthly monster today and just got over it 3 weeks ago and prior to that had it 2 1/2 weeks before. I'm 47. Is this a sign or maybe it may be something worse?
Thanks

Irregular periods are almost always hormonally influenced, as far as I've read....not always, but almost. At 47, you are in a classic time frame for peri.
My gyn wanted to put me on BC pills to regulate my period. I am, at this point, just deciding to see what nature does to me :)
(I'm 48)

I refuse to take any hormones..I eat totally organic so that is not in my vocabulary..So I'm in the same boat as you seeing what nature does..thanks

I hope I didn't come across as totally against meds. For me, the flux in my cycle is manageable so I am opting to wait. My night sweats are minimal and no hot flashes ...yet.
I've had friends who are having a VERY rough time of it. For those, I say meds short term may keep sanity and health. If my stuff gets bad, I may go that route...HRT doesn't have to be forever :)
If you don't mind your periods as they are and have no other symptoms, waiting is most certainly an option. As all of us here know...it's just a matter of time before everything with our bodies changes again, LOL.
Best to you.

Hey we all have to do what's best for ourselves. I'm hoping and praying I will not need any meds and I will try all other alternatives before I say yes to any. I excercise alot so I'm hoping all that good stuff helps in this transition. Right now I can handle the heavy flow not really any cramps so I'm good for now..Thanks for the reply ;)
