View Full Version : I'm gaining weight OFF the pill ?!

This is my first month off of ortho tri-cyclen and wellbutrin (which i needed b/c the bc pill made me moody).

I feel fabulous. This was PMs week and I had little to no moodiness. I really couldn't be happier.

BUT...the scale is up by 5-6 pounds just in this one month. My healthy lifestyle and gym habits have NOT changed. I do not gorge during the holidays, either. I've retained my normal weight for the past 4 years with one exception (the generic wellbutrin put 10 pounds on in 4 months and as soon as I got off it, it all came off).

Is this normal? Is it water retention? Is my body getting used to being drug-free? I thought people usually LOST weight when they came off of BC and SSRIs. Any thoughts would be appreciated since I am a bit bummed by this. Hopefully most of that is water and will come off next week during my period.
