Hi,

I'm new to this board. I'm 25 years old and have been on birth control pills for 12 years. A couple of months ago Myself and my husband decided to try for a baby, i went to the doc's to get advice about coming off the pill, my doc said i could stop the pill at anytime and try to concive. I decided to finish took my last pill on 28th october and bled until 3rd november, and since then i've had nothing, but for the last 5 days i've had the worst stomach cramps i've ever had in my life! it feels like really bad period pains, they are so bad i can't even stand upright some times and last night they were so bad, i was crying my eyes out!

has anyone else experienced anything like this? and when do you think i'll get my next period?

thanks in advance for your help.

I have been on birth control pills for the past 7 years and have never went off of them. But I have talked to many other women and they say that it takes the body a while (sometimes a few months) to regulate after stopping the pill. During pill useage, we are putting tons of artificial hormones in our body. It is hard for our bodies to drop that and go immediately back to how it is supposed to be.

My suggestion is, you should definately consult your doctor about the types of pains you are having. Although every woman responds differently to going off the pill, your doctor should be able to tell you what is happening and what can be done.
