View Full Version : second opinion?

Spending $5000 with the proshodontist on 4 onlays and 1 inlay, I went to an exam with another prosho (basically, I wanted to see if all the work I've had done was ok, but I didn't say that). Well, he says he would not have cemented 3 of the onlays (he knows they are only temporarily cemented) - the margins look bad on the x-ray. I should confront the dentist who did them.
Now, I don't know if I should totally trust this dentist either (he may want me to redo all these onlays with him). Also, a dentist who recemented one of these onlays on my vacation abroad in Quebec commented on that the work looked good (maybe a difference in standards?). How can I get another opinion without going for another exam?
Have you had an experience confronting a dentist about bad work and have had him redo it or gotten your money back? I'd love to hear your experience.

I would get one more opinion, and than if your still unsatisfied, I would confront the dentist. Believe me I know that dentists want to make you happy. Their biggest fear is to get sued.
