I like to eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, at least I make every effort to. Problem is the organic produce at the grocery store I go to is not very good. I eat a lot of apples, but the apples there are bad, like they were frozen(for transit) and thawed. I can just tell something is wrong with them by the flavor and texture. THey are definitely not fresh. This is a problem with much of the organic produce.

I want to eat organic because I don't want to ingest all the chemicals that are put on regualr fruits and vegetables. My question is this: What regular(non-organic) fruits and vegetables have very little pesticides/chemicals, on them so that I can eat them and not worry. I have heard that avocados are good in that they don't contain much of that bad stuff, and that things like green and red bell peppers retain a lot of the bad chemicals. So what things retain very little and which ones could be made "clean" by washing?
