I just posted under the digestive disorders forum not knowing that there was on for IBS. Anyways, I was recently diagnosed with IBS. My bowels are pretty normal, I usually go every morning. My biggest problem is cramping and pain. Well since yesterday, I have had this anal pressure like I'm constipated. I do have to force it to come out but when it does its runny. I don't know what to do. It is very discomforting and I want to take something but don't know what. I have Zelnorm, and I'm wondering if I should take it and maybe it will help everything pass without me straining. Or should I take a stool softener? Any ideas on what I should do?

Usually pain that is caused by cramping and spasms is a result of lacking magneium in your diet.

I suggest that you take a magnesium supplement several times daily to increase absoption. Taking it once daily in a larger dose -- results in an absorption of less than 10%.

An excellent homeopathic remedy for any muscle cramps and spasms is --Magnesia Phos -- You can buy it at a health food store. Take it as needed -- it takes about 35 minutes to work. But it will not correct a system shortage of a very important mineral -- magnesium.
It is believed by some experts that 80% of people lack magnesium -- yet it is in alot of foods but it is easily passed off in your urine.
