i was wondering if you could tell me if this is something to worry about.
a couple of months ago i felt a lump under neath my skin in the groin area, i thought it would go away within a week or so. i checked today and its still there (i think its still the same size) but now there are a few more. but one is on the opposite side. you cant even see them there, they only way you would know is if you felt them.
they arent painfull
their movable and sort of firm.
ive been searching all over the net and they all come up with cancer websites and im starting to get worried.
(im 14 year old female around 117lbs)

My boyfriend is experiencing something similar, so I've also been doing a lot of internet research. The first thing I'd suggest is to get to a doctor. From what I've read, swollen lymph nodes can be caused by a number of things, from viruses to bacterial infections to cancer. Try not to panic, and try to get to the root of the problem as soon as you can. Good luck to you!

Im 29 and since puberty, if I am getting ready to start my period, or have a cold, or even if I am totally healthy, my lymphnodes do swell and are painfull. It happens under my arm pits and both sides of my groin. They are tender and painful to touch, but it always goes away. I had pre cancerous lesions removed from my cervix when I was 19, that was after the birth of my 1st child in 1995, it came back in 1999 while I was pregnant with my 2nd child. They told my husband and I before they can cut it out I had to be further along in my pregnancy. Once I was in the safe zone, they did so and I have been good since, now my pap smears are yearly not 4 times a year. I am not a doctor, but your symptoms mimic mine, I still get the swollen groin thing, but see a doctor, before you scare yourself. good luck

Hello.. My boyfriend had the same thing last year, and my stepson had it under his arm pit. They both went through tests and found out that it was cat scratch fever! the childs went away with time, my boyfriend had surgery to remove his, it was caused by a cat scratch. The cats urine gets under the nails, therefore when you get scratched it goes straight to your lymphnodes. You can get scratched years prior and it might not show up for awhile..

WoW and I've had cats for 20 yrs now, but all were declawed? My kitty is only inside. All my kittys were declawed and inside cats? Any other possibilities?
