I dont know what the difference is between muscle spasm and twitches. My muscles feel like they vibrate. Just for seconds but it is all over, especially my upper arms and upper legs. Feels like a vibrator on them. What is that called? lol

A muscle spasm is basically a charlie horse , the vibrating that occurs for seconds are considered twiches.

You've caught my attention!
I have always thought that "I didn't" have muscle spasms persé as for some dumb reason I never connected them or at least the way people's spasms on here sound are twiching....I experience occassionally flickering or pulling in my face around my mouth and my eyes, I just thought this to be a tiredness thing (although the sensation I get around my mouth is very strange). As far as my legs, well charlie horses and foot spasms I get those. I also get a funny feeling like I have bands around my knees or just below them. My skin itches terribly around that area and sometimes I scratch so bad that I bruise myself! Guess I have to get those crawlies out from under my skin!!
So I guess what I am trying to ask is that "spasms and muscle things" on here are similiar to my symptoms???
I'm so confused about all this.
Thanks
LisaB

Hmmm, where to start. L'Hermitte's is a more specific symptom that occurs when you bend your neck forward. It was my first clue there was something actually wrong with me (imagine the fun I had searching the web for "vibrating sensation in spine"). I've had it since March, seems it is here to stay. Neurontin helps, though. It sort of "morphed" for me into constant numbness/tingling in my arms and back of my tongue. I think that stuff that happens no matter what my neck is doing is called parasthesia (numbness in extermities).
BUT, I've been having strange muscle stuff for years: cramps in my toes (which make it impossible to walk, and are stopped by a couple of swigs of tonic water), itching that makes me scratch myself until I bruise horribly and assorted twitches. I've also had tremor for about 15 years, frankly the tremor is the most annoying.
Aside from the L'Hermitte's and parasthesia I don't know if the other stuff is MS-related. I just sort of assumed that everyone got occasional twitches and such!

Hey there,
Thanks for your reply.
You know the vibration along your spine...I have a strange sensation at the base of my neck where the boney part is when you bend your head forward area. When I bend my head forward it feels very stiff and then I get this crunching/crackling feeling with a burning feeling. Other times out of knowhere I get itchy and squigglies all around that area and it drives me nuts! Like I have to remove an irritating label from my shirt or something but major itch with crawling feelings. When I lend my head forward the feel is like strain which is where I think the ****itance so maybe a feeling of vibration to others?
Does this sound familiar or am I way off base?
Thanks
LisaB
