I've been using Retin A for about 9 months now and I have far more wrinkles under my eyes than I did when I started. I had only a few light horizontal lines, and now I have deep horizontal and vertical lines. Lines in both directions and a lot! I thought it would get better, but it hasn't, so I stopped using it under my eyes. They really look bad though. Does anyone know how (aside from not using Retin A) or if, the damage can be reversed? thanks..

You should go back to the doctor that gave you the script and ask what the problem is. I used it a long time ago and all it did was make my skin red and irritable.

Hi ! guess what? I did the same thing as you by using retin a under my eyes religiously for a month. I thought I was being smart and providing preventative medicine to my under eye area. Instead I was cursed with deep lines under my eyes like a dried prune!! Its been two weeks now since I stopped using retin A and I can't see how these lines can go away. It seemed like I prematurely aged myself overnite!!! S.0.S!!! Do you think my condition will get better? Did yours???? thanks for any info you can give me!!!

Those are really old posts-
But I'm positive the issue will resolve its self, after the skin sheds off, and new skin comes in.
The retin a dried out your skin to much! Its strong stuff...
It may take a month or so, before all new skin comes in. '
Use lots of under eye cream in the meantime.

My skin doc gave me a script for REtin A which I never filled because it was so expensive. However, I don't think you are supposed to use it on the delicate tissues under the eye.
right? I just remember my doc saying don't do it.
I agree with the previous post, it may take months for the skin to slough off and be replaced by new baby skin. but it will resolve itself. After all it is not sun damage.
keep us posted.
