Does anyone know if there is an estrogen vaginal cream that doesn't put much estrogen into your blood? Does vaginal estrogen cream cause breast cancer? Is there any other kind of localized estrogen for vaginal use that doesn't get into your bloodstream? (This is for the treatment of chronic bladder infections caused by irritation and dryness of the urethra caused by not enough estrogen) Thank you if you know the answer.

Hi Sister
Well, it is my understanding that very little estrogen, from the cream, is absorbed into the body. I use it myself, and have for several years. I guess you have to way the risks against the discomfort of living with bladder indections and vaginal atrophy.
The estrogen is much less than oral HRT, and once the symptoms are relieved, the cream is only used to maintain. So starting of using it every day or several days a week, it is usually lessened down to once or twice a week. (I use 1 gram/once a week for maintenence).I don't know of anything else that would help. Although to prevent bladder indections, I take cranberry capsules several times a week, and it seems to help with prevention.

Thanks for your answer. Have you heard of D-Mannose? It's supposed to be much stronger than cranberry pills. I hope it's not just another way for someone to make money! I bought some but haven't started taking it yet. It was pretty expensive. Bye for now.
