Can anyone tell me what these labs mean? My doctor was testing some of my hormone levels to see if I was Peri and why I'm losing my hair but I don;t really understand them. Testosterone is 17 the range is 6-77 and DHEA is 78 range is 35-430. My DR said the DHEA might be a little low for me and I should take 25mg of DHEA but I know in doing some research on the internet you have to be careful how much you take. Can somebody help me out with this. Does this seem like a normal level? Is anybody else taking DHEA?

I did a saliva test about 6 months ago and I was low on everything (estrogen, progesterone and testosterone). My DHEA level was 70.8 (results for women should be 106-300, according to the lab). At first I took it in a cream along with other bioidentical hormones, but 3 months ago we switched how I was taking the other hormones and now I take DHEA by pill (25 mg). I hadn't realized there might be a problem so I guess I'd better do some research.
So far, my symptoms have improved. But I'm sure it's a combination of all the hormones and minerals I'm taking.
