Hi! This is my second month on birth control. Actually just finished my second pack today... but the last two times after intercourse I have had light (very light pinkish) bleeding. Is this normal? Thanks!

I know this is a stupid question but have you been sexually active for a while? If not, then bleeding is normal the first few times around. If so, then I don't think that birth control would cause you to bleed after intercourse (I've never heard of it before).

Is there break through bleeding anytime else? If not, you may want to watch out for dryness, sometimes the BCP's can cause it, which causes more friction during intercourse. Or you may want to call your doctor and see what they say. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply! Actually I have been sexually active for about 3 months now... and I haven't been dry with the BC :(... Could it also be because my period should come within the next week????? :confused:

I imagine it could. When starting BCP's, our bodies are receiving lots of artificial hormones and we all deal with it differently. Perhaps your body is just preparing for your period. You should notice less cramping and blood flow. Sometimes it was almost pinkish during my monthly flow because my period was so light. I would give it some time and see what patterns you can find. If the bleeding contiues but only after sex, I doubt that it is BC related.
