Hi guys as i was sleeping last night and turned on my left side I could feel a Boom boom boom, I am not sure if it was my heart beating fast or it was that i had gas in that area, since it nly did it 3 times it was between the heart area and ribcage, I had to right away turn over to my right side, has this happened to anyone else?

I've experienced this too!

Sometimes when I shift from the right to left, I get palpitations. My heart speeds up, flutters, and feels like it skips beats. I get this both while sleeping or awake. I immediately have to change positions and it usually stops right away. I don't know what causes it, but it's scary.

That sudden Fast Heart beat could be Atrial Fibrillation. This condition is very serious because it can result in a Stroke. I suggest that you let your doctor know that it is happening as soon as possible.
I speak from experience because I suffer from Atrial Fibrillation.

A Stress Test will not pick up AFIB unless it is actually occurring during the Test.
Because it cannot be picked up on an ECG unless it is happening then and there, the normal way that the Doctors find it is by patients wearing a Holter Monitor. I wore the Monitor for 24 hours and it picked up only a short 5 minute burst of Atrial Fibrillation, now 5 years later I get it daily for hours on end. It can be controlled with some rather nasty drugs, and there are surgical options which unfortunately are not 100% successful in stopping the AFIB. The biggest danger from AFIB is Stroke caused by the blood pooling and clotting in the upper chambers of the Heart during AFIB.
For AFIB in an otherwise normal Heart there are many known triggers that can set off an attack, caffeine is one, and another common one is laying on the left side while sleeping, which is why I mentioned AFIB in this Thread.

My arrhythmias get worse when I lay on my left side also...I have no idea why. It's the first position I get into when I go to bed because it's the most comfortable for me...you'd think I'd remember....when I start feeling the arrhythmias and the accompanying dizziness, tingling, chest pressure/pulling and shortness of breath...I turn over :) . I still get them either way but they're far worse when I lay on my left side.

I'm seeing a cardiologist next month.

I have Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome and my heart does that quite a bit. Request both an EKG and a holter monitor.
