This started while i was driving that both my hand would go to sleep when i had them up on the stirring wheel driving. I asked the safety guy at work he said it was probably fatigue. It was about a month later on 10/29/05 i woke up with my right arm and wrist killing me i had to take a loratab 10 to get it to stop hurting. I went to physical therapy and i've taken a dose of Methyprednisolone 4 mg for a week everthing seems to be going good my arm and wrist haven't been hurting, but my two middle fingers on my right hand stay numb all the time. I don't know if i should have the surgery or is there another treatment out there ? I've heard horror stories about the sugrey and my doctor said it's a 50/50 chance. Is this permanent nerve damage ? help

Someone I talked with recently, said they had good luck with their carpal tunnel symptoms going away using cold lazer therapy. That was done by their chiropractor. She said symptoms started to go away around the 5th or 6th treatment....she had 15 treatments in all.
As for permanent nerve damage.....having two numb fingers all the time as opposed to numbness coming and going, would concern me. I have been told I may have permanent nerve damage and index finger and long finger are the fingers affected. The long finger is numb on one side. Index finger has hypersensivity and numbness on the long finger side.
In reading on different articles...the two fingers you have affected are the ones most commonly having complications after surgery( according to 2 articles I read)...and another surgery is needed to correct that problem.

hi, I had surgery in june, just got taken out of work again, due to worsing of symptons which include soreness, swelling, clicking fingers, now I do notice numbness in the two middle fingers especially the tips, where I can press on them really hard and not feel any pain just pressure, also i have a numb spot near incision where there is scarring. I think i should have another emg ,its been 6 months since surgery.
