Today was my 18th day of taking OTC Lo, however a few days ago I felt a lot of cramping, and I think out of instinct I went to the bathroom to see what was up. I was bleeding only a little, but the day after up until now it's been extremely heavy bleeding, like a period. I started OTC Lo on the Sunday after I got my period, which was 18 days ago...so I don't think I just naturally got my period. Could that be because of the birth control? Do I keep taking the pills? May I need more hormones to prevent more break-through bleeding? Help is appreciated! =]
Thanks, girls.

This is common when first starting birth control. Read the package insert that came with your pills; this should all be detailed in the packet.
Keep taking 1 pill everyday as directed. You may continue to spot/bleed for the rest of the cycle. Be sure to start your next pack as scheduled. If the spotting/bleeding continues well into the next pack, consult your physician. You may require stronger pills, or a different hormone combination.
