View Full Version : Any Event Monitor users out there?

I'm using one now, I've always experienced heart palps for as long as I can remember, many years ago, I had the ekg, echo and holter monitor to no avail. Nothing was wrong with me.

Fast forward to today and I'm using this event monitor with a stress echo scheduled for next friday. Now, my question is, I know I'm having these palps and I've actually heard them on the recording but they apparently aren't prominent enough to show up on the reports from this device. Weird, huh? I feel like I'm losing my mind....

Anyone else?

Hi,

I've just recently been diagnosed with Wolff Parkinson White and most doctors recommend an ablation to be done for it, but my current Electrophysiologist who has been doing all the testing isn't convinced I need it. I am wearing the event monitor now and I felt like I was crazy because sometimes it will say my heart rate is at 92 and will jump to like 200...I think it is if I move the nodes on my chest if I am itching them or something.
Anyway, I;ve been wearing it for a week and a half and have just been recording whenever I feel something that is odd. I asked the nurses if I am overdoing it when I transmit and she said no, that the more info they have, the better they can diagnose exactly what is wrong. She saw my WPW showing up on the EKG that printed out from the event monitor so I know it is at least recording something.
Hope this helps!

Jenn
