Hi
On saturday, (6 days ago) I trapped my finger in my friends heavy oak front door. I squished it quite bad and it went black/blue immediatly and throbbed for the next two days. Then my finger swelled up and currently the nerves in my finger are wierd and i cannot hold stuff (pens etc) without it hurting, also i have a larged raised section at the bottom of the nail (the skin underneath) and it is soooo sore too touch.
what should i do? do i need to go to hospital (A&E)?
thanks

You need to release the pressure from the build-up of blood between the nail plate and the nail bed. If you aren't queezy, you can do this yourself with a very small drill bit. Sanitize the drill bit with a mixture of 10 parts water to 1 part clorox, rinse and dry. Hold the bit between you rfingers and roll it back and forth until you have a hole in the nail plate and you can see blood coming out of the hole. If you are queezy, you can go to your physician and have them do this.
