Ok, I tapered the Vic as much as possible, but only could manage down to 15mg a day, then stopped. It's been 36 hours and I feel like hell. Some w/d symptoms that everyone talks about, but for me the biggest problem is the "chills". It's not a creepy crawly feeling, but very extreme chills that are more than uncomfortable, pretty debilitating. I'm taking amino acids and b supps, etc., but they certainly aren't taking away the w/d feelings. Other than NC, can anyone suggest anything else for the physical discomfort? I don't have any "runs", which I thought I was supposed to get pretty quick? I was 6 month user at 20 - 30 mg a day. Any and all comments very welcome. I want to survive this. I'm exhausted from the pain. Sleeping ok because of benydryl. Just "chilled" to the bone - almost can't move from bed.

glad you have made it to the end of hydro addiction.your w/d will be easy compared to most on here so in a day or two you will be pretty much back in the saddle again.dont go back to usin as it gets harder every time you go thru this, trust me on this.good luck and stay in blankets maybe an electric blanket-spark

I agree with spark. Heating pads, hot baths, electric blankets and warm clothing. Don't use whatever you do. The chills will get better in a day or two. Hang in there and dont use no matter what. You might also take some immodium anyway - it helps some with the withdrawl.

Thanks for the encouragement. Woke up this morning and immediate feeling was actually not bad .... Still the "chills", which are strange. I went out last night and got immodium and took 3, but they didn't seem to help - waited 2 hours to see. I am hopeful this morning, which is way different. Right now I do not want to use. I know the wanting to use cravings comes next though.

try takin 5 of the name brand immodium ad and that should give relief from the w/d symptoms.if not take 6 this afternoon.may need laxative but as long as it gets rid of w/d who cares.if you use alot of imm. over a few days taper the dose down to make it easier on the body.good luck-spark

I went 14 days. On the night of the 14th day I was in unbearable pain (not from the w/d) and my doctor called in a small amount of vicodin. I took those (even less than was prescribed) and went right back to the detox on Sunday. Yes, most of me is feeling horrible and guilty and ashamed for having relapsed. Yes, I need to figure out plan B for the pain. I've got the same w/d symptoms now as I had prior to relapsing. A bit worse, but not anything like the first week. One question I had is about the aggravating chills. I noticed that even when I took the vicodin I still had the same chills. Does anyone have a thought on this? The really good thing when I relapsed was that I didn't feel good.
