jitteryme

Went to bed fairly early last night at 9:00 p.m. Woke up at my usual 5:15 a.m. and when I rolled over, the room began to spin. When I sat up, it was fine, but as soon as I layed back down, I was dizzy again. The only other time I have felt like this in my life was when I was coming down with the flu. I don't feel achy or sick like I am getting the flu, and I doubt that I have anything going on with my ears. I also am on the third day of my period of that matters.
I've been up for an hour now and haven't felt dizzy while being upright. Could this be another symptom of Peri? I don't take any meds other than one fish oil capsule in the evenings. I have some xanax, but I haven't had to take it in over three weeks. I have to admit that this one has me scared and REALLY anxious.
The only other thing I can think of is that I went to an acupuncturist on Thursday for the first time for a neck problem. He left some tiny little needles (attached to magnets) in my neck and told me to leave them in until next week unless they bothered me. They didn't bother me at all, but they were the first thing I thought of this morning, so I took them out. I think there is at least one other person on this board who sees an acupuncturist, so maybe she will have an answer for me.
Anyone?

I've had this too periodically throughout menopause. Kind of scary when it hits at a weird time. Had it happen while in the grocery store....would've fallen over if I hadn't been holding onto the cart! Have had it happen when I pulled into a parking space too. Felt like the car was still moving, so had to slam on the brake really hard...but luckily it was just my head spinning and the car was at a dead stop!
Now that I'm post meno (4 -5 yrs) it hardly ever happens.
