Hey there,
just a quick reminder to everyone out there struggling with your weight that you CAN do it! You can change your lifestyle and be healthy.

I know this from experience. I struggled with weight my whole childhood and adolescence.
One year ago I was size 16 and 200 lbs and felt pretty crappy, Now I'm size 8 and 152lbs.

A day of eating a year ago would consist of a muffin and coffee for breakfast, 2 peices of pizza and soda for lunch, a quiznos sandwich for an afternoon snack along with chips and a soft drink, and for dinner about 2 bowls of pasta with LOADS of cheese on it... and maybe even a late night trip to the drive through.

I slowly started eliminating these foods from my daily diet. ( I still have pizza, quiznos or cheezy pasta on occasion) and started introducing: whole grains, vegetables, fruits, soups, HEALTHY THINGS!
And you know what? I am beside myself now because I actually crave these things... raw veggies, fruits and I also crave excersize! At first eating healthy and excersizing (walking and occasional jogging) was hard. NOW I CRAVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!
In a day now I'll have a tea and muffin for breakfast, salad and cheese and crackers for lunch, fruit or veggies as a snack, and for dinner maybe 2 burritos with lots of vegetables or rice and fish and vegetables.

and I've completely eliminated soft drinks or any juices with sugar aswell as any fast food. (Very hard but I had to do it. that stuff is pretty much poison)

My life feels different. I'm happy and feel so energetic.
Good luck everyone!!!!!!!!

You're so right...it is possible! Little changes towards a healthy lifestyle is the way to do it. So many of us are in a hurry to lose the weight. We go on these impossibly strick diets, then feel like we failed when we slip. I gained and lost the same 25-30 lbs. over and over. Now, at age 46, I have finally gotten to a healthy weight and stayed there. I do what you do, I eat healthy most of the time and try to excercise everyday. When I eat something I feel like I shouldn't have or I skip excercise, I don't beat myself up anymore, I just get back on track. If you want to lose weight quick for a short amount of time...go on a diet. But, if you want to be healthy and trim down for the rest of your life....change the type of food you eat. Try to eat healthy foods...veggies, fruit, lean meat, low-fat dairy, good fats (nuts, olive oil). Not only will you get to a healthier weight, you may pervent some illnesses like heart disease. It is hard, but it does get easier. Like the above poster said, you actually start prefering the healthier foods. I look at a greasy hamburger now and think "eww"! For people who love fast-food, I highly recomend you rent the movie "Super Size Me"...it's a real eye-opener!! I'll never see fast food the same!
