I definitely notice more palps as well as increased anxiety when I'm having my period. I think it's all the extra hormones. It's so frustrating!! Nice to know I"m not the only one!!

Yes, I definitely have worse palps and a pounding heart in the 2 weeks before my period. A few months ago I looked through the scientific literature and found a number of published papers that found that women tend to have more palpitations and episodes of arrhythmias such as SVT while they are PMSing.

I definitely get increased Palps around PMS time and my cardiologist (who I went to see because of this) says there is documented proof that hormone fluctuations definitely play a role in increased palps prior to and during the menstrual cycle. So just decrease your caffeine and drink more water. And you are not alone in this! ;)

I also experience some heart palps and flutters and shortness of breath right before my period. I finally put it together that is was happening that way. I guess it is a hormone thing, but it is so annoying! I am getting it right now, so assuming my monthly friend is not far away :) . I also have MVP so that might contribute to it to, I am sure.

Happy HOlidays to all!

what r e symptoms?

Usually there are no symptoms. Something like 20-30% of the population has MVP and a huge number of them never have symptoms, but in some people it can cause palpitations or fatigue. It's also highly correlated with panic disorder.
