View Full Version : Worried about having possible symptoms

So within the past two weeks I've start to get several bumps that look like pimples right below my belly button all the way towards my pelvic region, right above but not really near my genitals.

Now I trim this area every week or so to keep my pubic hair relatively short. Could it just be several ingrown pubic hairs or should I worry about having herpes symptoms?

To give you a little context, I haven't had sex in the past month, and before that it was with my on and off again girlfriend who I've been seeing for three years, so I'm pretty sure I didn't get from her.

I just thought it was odd that these bumps starting showing up since I've never had them before and I've been trimming down there for at least three years. But I will say that right before the bumps showed up, I did shave the belly button hair or "happy trail" which I usually don't do, could that explain it?

Anyway, it appears that they're slowing going away, but could anyone shed some light on this mystery, I'm kinda freakin' out but don't really want to go to the doctor.

Do these sores ooze or as they are healing do they keep shedding a layer of crusty skin? This is how herpes acts...

And yes, shaving can definately cause bumps and irritation especially for men because the hairs are curlier and want to curl up under the skin instead of grow out. I'd say this is probably your problem but they should go away and if nothing ever comes back unless you shave again, it's a good assumption that you don't have herpes.

I'm new to this but, I have a question for keepsgoin, (you seem to really know what your talking about) My husband may have genital herpes, and I don't think I have it but would it be possible for me to have spread it to him by touching a cold sore with my hand then touching his penis?
