My husband and I have had oral sex since the beginning. He has always gotten severe cold sores on his lips. I mean really bad. Sometimes they would leave a scar. I know he has gone to the doctor on this and he said it was a virus and gotten medicine for them. It was supposed to be taken the minute they started. In time they said this would not help either.

I noticed just about immediately that I started getting these sores on the vagina. These are more in the hair area not in the inside. They would itch like mad and the more they itch the bigger they can get. Would these be from the cold sores being herpes which I believe they are called and being able to pass them to me in oral sex. We would try and stay away from sex when they were real bad or put a bandage on the side of his lip but so many times we just threw caution to the wind and let it be. I still have these sores yet today even though his cold sores have stopped. If so which I kind of think they are does anyone know of any treatment for the itching that can drive me bananas sometimes.

All this for love.

Just came from the website and found that this can be caused by his cold sores during sex so now I know what I have. Also found there is no cure so a big double wammy for the day. Well at least I know.

Yes this needs to be switched over to herpes but I'd like to comment on the itching. The itching is so horrible I was almost beside myself! I actually took some benadryl which seemed to help some but a vaginal itch cream will help some. I haven't yet found anythng that will really do a lot of good but the cream will help some. You commented that your sores are in your pubic area not inside any...EXACTLY like mine!!!!! Mine look nothing like those disgusting pictures on the web...they aren't on my genitalia, just where the hair grows. What you describe sounds like you do in fact have herpes and probably hsv 1 which is still considered genital herpes if it affects the genitals.

Yes, thank you so much. I am sure that is what I have. Probably no cure and I have advertisement where I am to report the post to switch over to Herpes and have no idea of how to do it. I do not know how to get rid of the advertisement in the right corner. Thanks so much. That makes me feel better but the itching can just about drive me mad.

i felt really sorry for your hsv, probably hsv 1....

i have got my first hsv1 genital outbreak 3 months ago which had been very terrible...than i have got continuous on and off o/b ever since...i took valtrex, lysine plus a lot of others which have shorten the suffering time....but yet this hsv1 still come after me whenever i stopped taking valtrex.

finally, i started taking the aggressive "suppressive therapy" by taking valtrex 500mg two times per day plus 2000 mg lysine per day no matter there were o/b or not...at last, i've got stablized and have been o/b free for around 10 days now.

based on my experience, hsv1 will be getting milder when time goes by...i think it might be sound to use suppressive therapy for the first year and wait untill the hsv eventually settle down with our body
