Hello! I just joined the board and am hoping to get some information. I haver Iron Defiency Anemia and my iron level's are not where my Hematologist want's them and I am having invasive Knee Surgery on 1/23 and my level's have to be up by then, Starting this Friday I go for Iron Infusion 2x/week for 4 weeks. This will be my first time having them and I'm scared to death. I don't know what kind I'm getting or what to expect. Also, I have horibble Veins and am afarid my Veins will collapse after being used so frequently. If anyone could give me any insight I would appreciate it. I'm petrifed and hoping for some insight on what to expect with these infusion's! Thank you!

i had a course of venofer iron infusions with no problems.
They keep a close watch on you on your first, just to make sure you dont have any reactions etc, i was absoultly fine.
Its just boring sat there whilst its done, you cant feel anything.
I was scared to but honest it wasnt as bad as i expected.

That's reassuring cause all I've heard are horror stories about it!

Me too, thats why i was so scared, id read all the bad experiances and frightened myself stupid.
Honest i was fine, people dont tend to come to these boards to tell us about positive experiances cause there just getting on with things, there generally aimed at what can go wrong.
