Hi all - I went to the emergency room this weekend because I thought I was having kidney failure. All of my test results came back "normal" but I am still having a lot of pain in my kidney area. You cannot even touch my kidney area. My results are as follow:
Creat/serum 0.7 normal is 0.4-1.0
Bun 7 normal is 8-20
Bun/Creat Ratio 10.0 normal is 7.5-15.5
My Potassium is 3.3 the normal is 3.6-5.1
Sodium 137 normal is 136-144
UA was normal except I had a small amount of blood. But he said that was normal.
I was just wondering what your thoughts were. I was wondering if you can still have a problem with your kidneys that can be life-threatening but have normal test results?
Thanks for any insight.

I wouldn't think that kidney failure would necessarily cause you pain in your kidney area, especially with normal tests results. I wouldn't be concerned with that.
Your pain could be coming from something else in that area, not your kidney.

Given how nornal your test results are, you can be pretty darn certain you're nowhere
near kidney failure. Look elsewhere for the soruce of your pain.

I'm not a doctor but I don't understand how even a little blood in your urine can be normal.
