Well I saw my MD this morning.. He is very concerned about my weight .. I was 91 pds at his office this morning. He seems to feel I am suffering some affects of malnutrition brought on by this who damn digestive / swallowing problems.. He said its time to start trying motility drugs.. He said he doesn't want to put me through yet another series of tests just to prove I need a motility drug... We talked about Reglan and I told him I am very concerned about the dangerous side affects from Reglan so he gave me Eurythromicin.. He said it's used for motility because it seems to "speed" things up..
I also told him about 8 yrs ago they had sent me for an upper an lower GI series and that I was there for more than 4 hours and the barrium they had me drink STILL had not moved down into the lower intesintes at the 4 hours mark..At that time I got really aggrivated an left.. He said that proves to him that I have a delayed gastric emptying problem and have had it for quite sometime.. So he suggested trying the lesser of the 2 evils as far as motility meds and gave me the Eurythromicin..Has anyone taken this antibiotic for this? Hve you had any success? Have you had any problems?
