I was wondering if any of you get mucos in your throat from GERD?

If so, any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

Right now I am going through something similar that is driving me crazy. Constant clearing of my throat - a raspy voice at times, and a feeling of just globs of mucous of phlegm(sp?) in the back of my throat. At times I can pull something up (I know sounds gross) and other times it feels like it just hangs out int he back of my throat. It is worse in the morning when I wake up. It drives me crazy. This is going on about for about 6 months now. Some days it;s worse than others. Doc had me try Flonase and Allegra to see if it was seasonal allergies. Did work a little, but still have symptoms. She said to wait until a good couples freezes with the weather and if it's still around - it's not seasonal allergies. It's still hanging around so next week my doc is sending me to an allergist to see if they can find something. I am on 2 protonix/day for GERD. So, not sure if this is GERD related or something else. I went for a sinus Cat Scan no sinusitis or inflamation of the sinuses. I've heard of smoething call LPR that is similar to GERD and has some of these symptoms. I'm wondering if this could be the problem - don't know much about LPR - does anyone else?

Yes most of the time LPR is a day time symptom and GERD happens mostly at night. In my case, I was told I have GERD but I think I have LPR. My symptoms get worse as the day goes and I feel great in the morning. My symptoms are. Feeling of something in my throat, coughing, clearing my throat, spit that is thick (I feel like the little kid on Big Daddy that spits and it hangs to the ground), I have coughed up food, I have swoolen glands and still feel stomach aches from time to time. I am on Protonix a PPI and it seems to work. It took two days. We'll see how I do. I am going in to see the ENT dr. sometime in the next two weeks. I have spend the last three days looking at what I might have, thinking of the worse (the big C), but through my findings it sounds like this just has to run its course and it could take up to 4-8 weeks to heel. I hope it doesn't take that long, I hate the feeling of something in my throat.
Good luck and I hope you can rest assured...
