View Full Version : Possible causes for my seizures

I would like to ask a question that has been my Mothers opinion for a few years & now I am giving it a closer look as we seem to have tried everything else with no firm solution .
I have a seizure disorder – it was diagnosed as at the time as epilepsy ( grand mal ) the diagnosize may have been correct BUT the necessity for medication may not have been correct – I just wonder are their many people out there in a similar boat ?
Now we in the family wonder if it is Reactive Hypoglycemia as so many of my seizures have been at times when my blood sugar is low – e.g. – Let’s say I eat a candy bar or something very sweet … shortly after that I often have had a seizure , basically there has just been a rush of sugar to my brain then a sudden decrease – causing the seizure

I also have cerebellar atrophy - or dizziness/balance problems so I have found that I can only take so much of any anti epilepsy medication otherwise the side effects are overpowering .
I have also found that If I take too little My seizures get worse - it seems I cant win .

I can also add that I am allergic to various thing like MSG - Nitrates & Sulfites + Toluene & a few other things .

Any help or information will be very welcome .

BAHAMAS :) ( Seasons Greetings to all )
