for those who may remember this ....yes I am still having left arm pain and once in a while i feel it my chest, aslo back of my neck. This is off and on and they are sharp stabbing like pains sometimes achy.quick stabs lasting maybe 10 to 20 seconds.anyway, I went to the ER about 2 weeks ago because I had a couple mixed drinks and during this I felt the pain in my chest and then in my forearm! so of course i wigged out thinking I have angina and gonna die of a heart attack.Well sureprisingly the ER doc took it serious, rarely happens for me.He had a chest xray, echo, blood work done all came back fine.He says my only risk factor is smoking from what I had told him and my symptoms are Atypical of the heart (meaning not the normal for heart issue).Well he still wanted me to get with my doctor for a stress test because he said "I dont think it is your heart, but I cannot be for sure." sooooooo anyway,my question is does anyone else experiance this type of thing? I am just really scared and I have no health insurance so I wont be getting a stress test probably.Someone did sugesst to me to walk for a while and see if the pain hit them which I did and the pain didnt happen during that. anyone else?

thanks

I've had the exact same kind of pains, but even for longer periods and more severe starting about a year ago. I haven't had any health insurance either. It got so bad, I went into an emergency clinic last February and they did a chest x-ray, EKG, and checked my vitals and they all came back normal. Because I smoke though, the doctor told me with my symptoms that I should go into Emergency and get checked out. Well, without insurance, I wasn't going to do that, because I had been there a year before and all my tests came out normal. The ER doctor actually told me I was very healthy??? LOL! But this clinic doctor told me the only way to be sure it wasn't heart related, was to do a treadmill stress test. Luckily, I found this place in my area where they strictly do testing, and it only cost $120 to get it done. I was scared to death, but went and did it. The techs that performed it told me they couldn't give me the results, that I'd have to wait to get them in the mail from the doctor that reviewed it, but I begged them to tell me whether I was okay or not, and the tech told winked at me, and told me not to lose any sleep over it. The other tech told me I did better than she would have. The actual results came back with no signs of any heart related problems, and all the other readings were good, if not real good. I almost constantly get pain in my left arm though, and pains in my back and chest, just like you describe. Stomach problems have the exact same symptoms as heart problems, and that's why they can't be sure without the proper testing. You might want to look in your area and see if there is a testing facility that will just give you the stress test, so you can put your mind at ease. It's very unsettling to get left arm and chest pain, even now that I know it's not my heart, but it has helped put my mind at ease somewhat. Hope this helps!

thanks..yes it does help I feel a bit relieved to know im not the only one. Also that makes me feel there is even more chance that it may not even be heart related.I will check around for a place like you went to maybe I should call my health dept. The pains never hurt, but like you say it is just very scarey.

You're welcome and I hope you have a very nice holiday also! I found the facility in my Yellow Pages so you might want to try to look there also. Just as a side note, I've been getting a lot of chest pain today, after a stressful situation. I notice along with the pain, I get very tight muscles and knots in the left side of my chest back and front around my rib cage. I've found it helps when my husband puts pressure on the knots and massages them out. It hurts and first, but then the pain goes away!

Take care! :)
