Hello All! I have been here for the past few years on and off. I had a bulging disc at c6-7 and degenerative disc disease. I had a cervical fusion in October 2003. My pain down my arms and fingers have gone away, but the lingering pain was stlll there. The dull ache in the shoulders and neck remained there full-time and at times it was severe pain on and off...depending if I did a lot of exercise that day. Anyway, my physician put me on this new drug called Cymbalta. It is for depression and for pain. It treats both. I orginally went in there to see her about depression....but she said since I have chronic pain that this new drug was the perfect fit b/c it can help with both. Well....I tried it and I have been pain free for 4 days! It is wonderful! I haven't had the dull ache that was always there after the surgery! I just wanted to let everyone out there know about this drug, because so many people have helped me on this board. Good luck and happy holidays!
