I have a 3 yr old and she has been constipated for a while anyone have any suggestions as to what to do as far as household things goes?

Apples, pears, applesauce, apple juice....at least those things usually help my kids. Definitely no bananas...those can make children constipated. If your child likes veggies those will help too. I wouldn't give any kind of laxative unless it's been a really long time or unless your doc says its OK. I don't know where you live, but here we have something called Fletcher's. It's a laxative for children, very mild. Works like a charm! If your child seems to be in pain or very uncomfortable, call your doctor to see what he recommends. :) fifistoosh 12-26-2005, 12:26 AM Drink plenty fluids too! I heard about it from some other moms who swear by this also. I buy the ones that are in a light syrup.
