I had my primary outbreak in July 04..........since then i had had no signs of another, and i am not on any suppressive therapy..............my doctor said i many never see another outbreak again in my life...................Has anyone only had one outbreak and has been outbreak-free for years?

I'm still waiting for my first Outbreak to go away that started the first part of November! I'm hoping I will never have another OB again in my life. This ONE has been enough to last a lifetime! :rolleyes: It's almost completely gone now though! :bouncing:

So how bad was your first?

my first was BAD!!!!.....very painful.....lasted about 10 days...........but cleared up 5 days after taking medicine..........but been outbreak-free 18 months and counting.........i hope that gives people some hope that you can be free of this disease with a healthy lifestyle

when u had your 1st outbreak (who ever would like to reply) what was the symptoms like and personal things were u going thru

The very first symptoms were a dull headache which I thought was from eating too much sugar...then I get this pain in my crotch and the next thing I started to hurt during urination...not a sign of any sores until about a week into this painful/frequent urination. When I say painful, I mean it was so bad that I would whimper when I went to the bathroom. It felt like I would assume it would it I were stabbed in my urinary tract.

I was experiencing a lot of stress and I really still am. I've just gone through a terrible divorce...my boyfriends EX has been causing us much pain...my EX is causing a lot of pain. My family has just about disowned me for divorcing my husband because they thought he hung the moon because I never told anyone anything about our problems. They think I've lied about what he was doing?????! I think this belongs in another forum so I'll stop with these issues now! :(

I had the same experience. HORRIBLE first OB about 18 months ago and nothing since then. No suppression meds or anything either...
