I don't believe a 3.0 treadmill speed is sufficient to exclude angina. I fast walk at 3.6. A 3.0 speed is the beginning speed on stress test (treadmill). Are sure the speed is 3.0 and not 4.0? The 3.0 is very liitle exertion!

It is true, you don't want to exceed a heart rate higher than what is acceptable to your age and condition.

But I don't believe your treadmill is accurately calibrated. There are 10 treadmills where I exercise, and all are properly calibrated and maintained. A 3.0 is a walk calibration and 4.0 is a low reading for a jog.

Your system is compensating and may be over compensating with a 160 HR, however, I don't blieve eschemia (heart artery blockage) can be ruled out. I have a totally blocked LAD with a collateral-vessel natural bypass, and I have no angina. I experience fatique when the treadmill is inclined. At 3.6 my HR reaches 126. For you to read 160 at 3.0 is puzzling!
