I have been through about 30 grand in testing and many many different doctors to try to explain my chronic headache, dizziness, and shortness of breath, but there is still no diagnosis, the only diagnosis is headache, dizziness, and short of breath, and perhaps anxiety since there's no explanation. I have gone from doctor to doctor like a hypochondriac hooked to an espresso i.v. line, and had multiple MRI's, CT's, and a nuclear medicine scan.
After all is said and done, do you think i have a snowballs chance of Bluecross accepting me for an individual plan? I desperately need insurance but I'm afraid to even bother...
i am also wonder exactly what these "365 day" pre-existing exlusion things mean...that makes little sense to me in that I'm not sure what this applies to.....it's like you telling me that blue bananas come only from indiana....
anybody?

This is for everyone's information on insurance.
If you have 2-3 accidents in your car, or speeding tickets or a dui it is very difficult, almost impossible to get automobile insurance. An insurance company is in business to make money and they do not want high risk individuals, people with a history of troubles.
The same is true for health insurance. An insurance company will not take a risk on someone needing surgery or having an ongoing illness, or someone with a history of medical problems. Pre-exisitng means that you have had a medical situation that the insurance company may exclude from coverage. Every company has their own rule on what pre-exisiting means so you must read the brochure carefully and discuss it with your health insurance agent.
You must be careful to tell the company everything about your medical history and be absolutely honest in answering question on the application.
Most states have programs for their citizens who have illness or pre-ex, and are turned down by insurance companys. So, contact your state insurance department if you cannot get a traditional major medical policy. Remember, no profit making insurance company wants to insure a high risk individual.
If this is unfair then contact your congressperson and work for a govenrnent health care plan. Hope this helps.
