Hi,

I am a 30 year old male and I have noticed I get blood on toilet paper. The blood appears to come from a spot very close to the anus on the side towards the penis.

I have read that not having enough fibre can cause the haemaroids to cause bleeding. Or could it be something more serious?

Hey there,

I'm having a similar problem with regards to the blood... a response from anyone who knows about this would be greatly appreciated.

it's probably a "cut" near your anus. definitely add some fiber. if it's only on the paper or even in the bowl...but if it looks dark red, or if your stool looks dark or tarry, then go to a doctor.

I have to say, my diet isn't quite as good as it should be but will keep an eye on my loads !

Hey, since most people on this particular board are a little crude (you HAVE to be actually!) I will suggest that you take a hand held mirror, bend over, hold that mirror where this spot is and look into a bigger mirror in back of you, you can spread open your butt crack and actually see an external hemmhorhoid. If it is REALLY big, you just have to bend over and voila! There it is! They do tend to be to one side. These things CAN cause signifanct bleeding too! Threethings has the right idea, if the blood is dark or if the stools are black looking, see a doctor. Even if you see a doctor for the hemmhoroid they will still give you a sigmoidoscopy if you tell them it's bleeding, because they want to make SURE of that. (I had it done, no big deal at all, you can even watch it on a little screen!) I heard there's prep for it, I didn't have one, just went in wasn't even prepared and it was done in 5 minutes. They just check out the descending colon.

Hmm i have the same problem too. I see very tiny spots of bright red blood on toilet paper when I wipe occasionally. Dunno why. My stool is brown tho and I havn't seen any black or dark or red blood on my stoll yet. Just mostly light brown or dark brown.

I hate having hemorrhoids.

I was diagnosed with them - one external and some internal too - and just tonight noticed blood on the toilet paper and a bit in the bowl. I know it is because I had been straining a lot lately and constipated, but man, that doesn't make it any nicer when this stuff starts happening!

Hope you guys feel better soon and that these problems calm down soon.
