Hi, I know I may be young, but I want to lose weight nonetheless. I am 14(turning 15 in March), 5"10 ish, and weigh 153 lbs. It may not sound like it, but I am a little overweight. I would like to lose 10-15 lbs. How would I do that, quite simply?(without telling my parents, they would flip.) Thanks for your advice.

Why? 153 is not bad. If you are doing this for yourself,OK. If you are trying to fit in do not try to loose weight. Find new friends. Method; cut down on sugar and starch, make note of sugar content on what you like, then start choosing items with less sugar.

It's mainly for myself, but I haven't been able to find a girlfriend, and my being overweight couldn't help. THanks for the advice about the sugar and starch. Do you have anymore tips?

If your looking for girlfriend weight is not the issue. It is your attitude on life and how you feel about others and yourself, that is the major issue. Be yourself. If you think looks are it then, simply choose foods as said before and get a routine of exercise and be socially inclined within your own likes and what you call fun things. With all this, the exercise and choice of less fried foods and more health types and the patience that someone of your age group usually has. Things will work out.

Here's my advice young man - sweat.

Play tennis, play basketball, ride a bike, run a little. You're young - go out and play a bit and enjoy life.

Cut down on the portions and stop snacking.

This advice will work.
