Hello
. I do have IBS. the thing is i have notice i have started to get pain on the my right side. its not near by rib cage of anything, it is down at the bottom. I would say near the small intestines. I dont get the pain when i eat, its always when i go to bed. sometimes i do get a bit of wind when this pain comes. could the IBS be causing this. Thanks

Yes possibly. If you ever see a diagram of your colon it ascends on the right side from where it links to the small intestine just above and right of the pelvic bone and then sweeps across to the left side. It runs higher in the body cavity than most people think. When the IBS is active, it can cause pain throughout the intire length of the colon and because it is not related to a specific injury or inflammation it can move around and strike in totally different areas. What you are describing is what I get after spicy food. Most of my actual cramps occur in the descending colon on the left side.
