I just wanted to wish you all a Happy-Pain-Free-New Years! :)
This past year and a half has been like hell for me dealing with lots of pain and being bed-ridden for 6 months during one point.
Finally (for now at least) I have my pain under control with the meds I'm on. My goal is to exercise more in 2006 at my health club. I've been a member but haven't been able to actually get there to workout and enjoy the heat of the sauna which relaxes my muscles and makes me feel better.
The only thing I can do is workout on an elliptical machine. I use to be a long-distance runner but can't do that anymore. My other goal is to find me a girlfriend. ;)
Maybe feelbad or Fabby can help me out in that area? :D
My new pick-up line could be, "Hey baby, I'm Gabe and have CP. Wanna be my girlfriend?" :D
Any ways, back to the main point. :p
Have a Happy New Years!
Gabe :bouncing: :)

Happy New Years to you all too! Gabe, I'm sure you won't have any trouble at all finding a girlfriend, with your humor and faith and positive outlook on life even in the darkest of times. My friend had breast cancer at a very young age and was worried she would never find a man to love her for her. I told her she had a built in jerk detector, any person who would have a problem with physical limitations in a person they cared about doesnt know what love is and never will. She has been happily married for 10 years now to a guy who thinks she is the most beautiful woman in the world. Your special lady is out there waiting Gabe, I guarantee it. Be careful with the working out, I went through the pain of pushing myself too hard every time and ending up not able to do much of anything for long periods, I try to do what I can because the healthier I can keep the rest of my body, the better it can support my spine issues. I walk 3 miles a day and I do shallow water areobics, some weeks I can't do either, but I feel better when I can. Having an MRI today at 2 pm, I'll let everyone know how it goes
Take Care, and Happy New Year! ~Fabby :jester:

Hey Fabby
I said a prayer for you before you went in for that MRI. What are the doctors looking for? Let us know. :)
Before I broke my shoulder in 2000, I was dating a wonderful, Christian girl who I thought I was going to marry. After I broke my shoulder and had two surgeries my girlfriend sat me down and told me she wouldn't marry me if I kept being a police officer because the risk of getting hurt again. :(
I ended the relationship a few days later and was devastated and hurt. She was basically saying that she wasn't going to put up with any more surgeries and watch me live in pain and have to go to the hospital with me and support me. :(
The last 5 years I was a police officer I just dated and didn't get serious with any girl worrying they wouldn't be there for me if I got injured again and had to retire with a disability pension. So then in July of 05' here while on the job I damaged my shoulder joint, my C-6 bulged out straight out of place and had 52 sessions of the PT and was in bed for 6 months plus learned I had complete nerve damage in my shoulder and neck.
I know God will send me that perfect girl someday who will understand my condition and still love me for who I am and be there for me in good and bad times, and the same applies to me. :)
