I've got 2 or maybe 3 lumps behind my right testicle. They're painful but not too painful. My testicle isn't swollen nor does there seem to be any extra weight added. I've had this for about 2 weeks and they seem to be shrinking, growing, shrinking, growing. I've noticed that if I wear loose shorts/boxers and let my "boys hang loose" then I'll have more pain than if kept things up tight for the day. I haven't been doing anything different over the last month as far as sexual experiences go (I'm married/monogamous). I'm thinking they could be epididymal cysts, but obviously I can't say for sure. I'll probably go to the doctor early next week if they don't subside but I was hoping someone here could at least give me some ideas on how I may be able to deduce, one way or another, what they could be. There is no pain during urination or orgasm. I do know that I had something similar when I was in my early 20s but it lasted only a couple days. I'm in my mid 30s now. Thanks very much for any help.

The lump sizes have decreased quite a bit (almost completely) and the tenderness in the right testicle has subsided. But now the pain feels like it's moved slightly up to behind the pubic bone on that same side. What's up with that? What type of lumps come and go like that but leave pain? I'm thinking of going to the doc today but it feels like it's going away.

Yes, seeing the doctor sounds like the best thing to do. Let us know what you find out.
Sounds like varicose veins. Pain can come and go with them. Because it's trapped blood trying to get pumped back to the heart lying down (as in sleeping) takes some of the pressure off. Do you find there's less pain in the morning and does it increase as the day goes on?

Yes, it does hurt less in the morning and more during the day. It hurts much more if I wear loose clothing (i.e. regular boxers as opposed to boxer briefs). Would varicose veins explain the symptom of the pain moving up into behind my pubic area? I think I've had this for years actually. I haven't gone to the doc yet.. I keep telling myself I will I just don't have the desire to plop my balls out on the table and have some man inspect them. I know that's stupid of me but... oh well. Thanks.
Yes, since there's alot of nerves in the area a problem in one area can be felt in another. Referred pain I think they call it. One of the possible symptoms of testicular cancer is lower back pain! And if you've ever been it in the balls you know the pain that shoots up into the abdomen.

I had a varicose vein a year ago. The doctor told me to wear briefs as opposed to boxers to help the pain. I ended up having surgery which was pretty painless and easy. It did not feel like lumps to me but what you described seems similar to my symptoms, if you are in pain often I would suggest surgery becuase it will likely never go away. They make an incision about the waist line and "tie" off the enlarged vein cutting off blood and the vein fizzles out after time. Just remember when seeing a doctor this is what they do all day, nothing you are going to show them will make them feel awkward so do not feel scared yourself.

The vein just fizzles out?! What does that mean exactly? I did some research and I read somewhere else pretty much the same thing you just described and it boggles my brain that a vein can end up just sort of dying off with no blood - is that what happens? Crazy..
I went to my doctor today and he told me it was epididymal cysts (sp?). He gave me cipro and sent me on my way. He said I should notice a difference in a couple days and to let him know if not. He said I had a small case. I hope he's right. I'll post back and let you guys know.
