Hi, I recently took my blood pressure cuz I always feel like my heart is beating fast... But Ive also been told I have anxiety but I feel like I have a muscle pain on my left side sometimes or some sort of pain so I took my blood pressure I took it the first time it was

179/90
my pulse was: 90

Then I took it again because I just sat down after walking around it was

153/82
my pulse was: 96

is this normal or should I be worried about it? Thanks! Ive been known to have hypochondrio so I worry if im going to have a heart attack if even something so little is wrong.

You should see your Dr. Unless you have some other problems, someone as young as you should not be over 120/80. But, we don't know how high it is due to your anxiety rather than any real problem.

Thanks, I will be sure to do that I took it today and it was around what you said, So it might just be my anxiety... I will have to go to a doctor to check it out, Is it still safe to run and workout still you think?

Of course it's still safe, it's even recommended to lower bp.

travi,

Take about three RELAXED (after sitting or revclining 10 minutes) readings a day and record them. Do this for a month and then average the 90 systolics and average the 90 diastolics.
Then see if you are above 140 or 90. This will determine if you are hypertensive.

Well I got my blood work back they said everything is fine and it would be useless to go to a cardiologist... Wonder why my blood pressure is high then though... Thanks for your help everyone.
